Abstract

List of indexed keywords within the transdisciplinary set of domains which relate to the Integrated Natural Resources Modelling and Management (INRMM). In particular, the list of keywords maps the semantic tags in the INRMM Meta-information Database (INRMM-MiD). [\n] The INRMM-MiD records providing this list are accessible by the special tag: inrmm-list-of-tags ( http://mfkp.org/INRMM/tag/inrmm-list-of-tags ). ...

Architecture of Environmental Risk Modelling: for a faster and more robust response to natural disasters

In 3rd Conference of Computational Interdisciplinary Sciences (2014), pp. 46-57

Abstract

Demands on the disaster response capacity of the European Union are likely to increase, as the impacts of disasters continue to grow both in size and frequency. This has resulted in intensive research on issues concerning spatially-explicit information and modelling and their multiple sources of uncertainty. Geospatial support is one of the forms of assistance frequently required by emergency response centres along with hazard forecast and event management assessment. Robust modelling of natural hazards requires dynamic simulations under an array of ...

Support for Urgent Computing Based on Resource Virtualization

In Computational Science – ICCS 2009, Vol. 5544 (2009), pp. 227-236, https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-01970-8_23

Abstract

Virtualization technologies provide flexible execution environments that could bring important benefits for computational problems with strong deadlines. Large Grid infrastructures are becoming available nowadays and they could be a suitable environment to run such on-demand computations that might be used in decision-making processes. For these computation, we encounter the need to deliver as much resources as possible at particular times. These resources may be provided by different institutions belonging to a grid infrastructure but there are two important issues that must ...

Injecting Dynamic Real-Time Data into a DDDAS for Forest Fire Behavior Prediction

In Computational Science – ICCS 2009, Vol. 5545 (2009), pp. 489-499, https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-01973-9_55

Abstract

This work presents a novel idea for forest fire prediction, based on Dynamic Data Driven Application Systems. We developed a system capable of assimilating data at execution time, and conduct simulation according to those measurements. We used a conventional simulator, and created a methodology capable of removing parameter uncertainty. To test this methodology, several experiments were performed based on southern California fires. ...

Meta-information Database (INRMM-MiD).
This database integrates a dedicated meta-information database in CiteULike (the CiteULike INRMM Group) with the meta-information available in Google Scholar, CrossRef and DataCite. The Altmetric database with Article-Level Metrics is also harvested. Part of the provided semantic content (machine-readable) is made even human-readable thanks to the DCMI Dublin Core viewer. Digital preservation of the meta-information indexed within the INRMM-MiD publication records is implemented thanks to the Internet Archive.
The library of INRMM related pubblications may be quickly accessed with the following links.

Please, be aware that the indexed meta-information entirely relies on voluntary work and constitutes a quite incomplete and not homogeneous work-in-progress.
INRMM-MiD was experimentally established by the Maieutike Research Initiative in 2008 and then improved with the help of several volunteers (with a major technical upgrade in 2011). This new integrated interface is operational since 2014.
