Crown Architecture of Valuable Broadleaved Species

In Valuable Broadleaved Forests in Europe (2009), pp. 87-101

The architecture and growth dynamics of Prunus avium L., Fraxinus excelsior L. and Acer pseudoplatanus L. were studied in several regions of France. Trees growing in open field and in the understory of forest stands were observed. Numerous trees were studied at several stages of development in order to identify the morphological and architectural features of these species. The establishment of the architectural unit and the strategy of crown development were described for each species. The architectural bases of interspecific and ...

The Commercial Impact of Oak Shake in Great Britain

Forestry, Vol. 67, No. 2. (01 January 1994), pp. 119-131, doi:10.1093/forestry/67.2.119
Keywords: quercus-spp   shake   timber-value

The paper describes the results of a postal questionnaire survey into the extent of oak ‘shake’ in Great Britain. On average, 21 per cent of all oak was degraded by some form of shake. On a national scale, this represents a reduction in potential harvesting revenues to growers of between £3 million and £8 million annually, and larger sums if the cost of replacement imported hardwoods is considered. ...

Growth development of hardwood high value timber species in central south Chile, South America

In Proceedings of 4th International Scientific Conference on Hardwood Processing 2013, Vol. 1, No. 2. (2013), pp. 50-61

Considering the interesting markets that timber of several hardwood species have, and the productive potential of Chile, in the central southern area of the country, in the last 20 years several experimental trials were established, pure or mixed, located between the Araucanía and Los Lagos regions. Trials include exotic species, such as Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), Black walnut (Juglans nigra), Chestnut (Castanea sativa), Yellow-poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera), Black alder (Alnus glutinosa), Cherry tree (Prunus avium), Red American Oak (Quercus rubra) ...

Meta-information Database (INRMM-MiD).
This database integrates a dedicated meta-information database in CiteULike (the CiteULike INRMM Group) with the meta-information available in Google Scholar, CrossRef and DataCite. The Altmetric database with Article-Level Metrics is also harvested. Part of the provided semantic content (machine-readable) is made even human-readable thanks to the DCMI Dublin Core viewer. Digital preservation of the meta-information indexed within the INRMM-MiD publication records is implemented thanks to the Internet Archive.
The library of INRMM related pubblications may be quickly accessed with the following links.
