Accuracy assessment of GlobeLand30 2010 land cover over China based on geographically and categorically stratified validation sample data

Remote Sensing, Vol. 10, No. 8. (02 August 2018), 1213, https://doi.org/10.3390/rs10081213

Abstract

Land cover information is vital for research and applications concerning natural resources and environmental modeling. Accuracy assessment is an important dimension in use and production of land cover information. GlobeLand30 is a relatively new global land cover information product with a fine spatial resolution of 30 m and is potentially useful for many applications. This paper describes the methods for and results from the first country-wide and statistically based accuracy assessment of GlobeLand30 2010 land cover dataset over China. For this, ...

(1977)

Abstract

Maps of the ranges of tree species in North America compiled by Elbert Little, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, and others (see references below) were digitized for use in USGS' vegetation-climate modeling studies. These digital map files are available here for download. Updated versions of some of these maps are also available from the U.S. Forest Service Forest Inventory Analysis program. The maps are available in ArcView® shapefile format. Geographic ranges are represented as polygons. There is one shapefile ...

A new record of Betula litwinowii (Betulaceae) and a review of the geographical distribution of the genus Betula L. in Iran

Iranian Journal of Botany, Vol. 16, No. 2. (2010), pp. 237-241

Abstract

Betula litwinowii Doluch., discovered from northern Iran, is reported as a new record for the flora of Iran. Morphological characteristics of this species are compared to its closest relative, Betula pendula Roth. In addition, the geographical distribution of these two taxa in Iran and adjacent regions is discussed. ...

Holocene Isochrone Maps and Patterns of Tree-Spreading in the British Isles

Journal of Biogeography, Vol. 16, No. 6. (1989), pp. 503-540
Keywords: isochrone   maps   paleoecology   plant-species   pollen

Abstract

Isochrone maps for Betula L., Corylus avellana L., Ulmus L., Pinus sylvestris L., Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn., Tilia L., Fraxinus excelsior L. and Fagus sylvatica L. in the Holocene of the British Isles, constructed from 135 radiocarbon-dated pollen diagrams, provide a basis for studying the patterns of tree spread. They highlight the strongly individualistic behaviour of each taxon in its arrival areas, directions, timings, rates of spread, and attainment of broad-scale range limits. The biological processes that enable forest trees to ...

FloraWeb

(2015)

Abstract

Abstract

An Atlas of Past and Present Pollen Maps for Europe, 0-13,000 Years Ago

Abstract

The present work is a palynological study presenting the synthesis of available pollen-analytical data for the European Late-Glacial and Holocene, and demonstrating the palaeo-ecological value of isopoll mapping of many pollen types at a broad geographical scale. The included maps are concerned with the frequencies of pollen of all the major European trees and shrubs and of many of the important dwarf-shrubs and herbs at 500- or 1000-year intervals. They are shown to provide a number of possible applications in formulating ...

Atlas of North European vascular plants (North of the Tropic of Cancer), Vols. I-III.

(1986)
Keywords: botany   maps   phytogeography

Abstract

Altogether, about 4475 plant taxa are treated in this work, either on the 1936 maps or in the text. All maps are elaborated in the traditional manner with exact indication of the occurrences when possible (by dots or equal signs). Limiting lines and hatching have been used in cases where only general information has been obtained or considered to be sufficient. Thus the mapping is not adapted to a grid system with squares, often used in modern works, especially in fairly ...

Meta-information Database (INRMM-MiD).
This database integrates a dedicated meta-information database in CiteULike (the CiteULike INRMM Group) with the meta-information available in Google Scholar, CrossRef and DataCite. The Altmetric database with Article-Level Metrics is also harvested. Part of the provided semantic content (machine-readable) is made even human-readable thanks to the DCMI Dublin Core viewer. Digital preservation of the meta-information indexed within the INRMM-MiD publication records is implemented thanks to the Internet Archive.
The library of INRMM related pubblications may be quickly accessed with the following links.
