Abstract

Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health (PLH) performed a pest categorisation of Davidsoniella virescens, a well-defined and distinguishable fungal species of the family Ceratocystidaceae. The species was moved from the genus Ceratocystis to the genus Davidsoniella following a revision of the family. The former species name Ceratocystis virescens is used in the Council Directive 2000/29/EC. Abstract

Liriodendron tulipifera zählt zu den höchsten und schönsten Laubbäumen des amerikanischen Ostens. Das natürliche Areal reicht von Vermont und den Großen Seen bis in den Norden Floridas. Ein wichtiges Verbreitungszentrum erstreckt sich entlang des Appalachen-Kammes. Tulpenbäume erreichen Maximalhöhen von 60 m und Stammstärken (BHD) bis 150 cm. Sie sind raschwüchsig, ungemein ertragsstark, liefern ein hochwertiges Stammholz und werden durch Krankheiten nicht ernsthaft gefährdet. (1) Early forest regeneration in southern Appalachian hardwood forests is dominated by the woody nitrogen-fixing legume, black locust (Robinia pseudo-acacia).
